The following are the charges against Warmaster Caning.

(I) That on the St. March 1895 while on duty he was

under the influence of drink.

(2) That he alsobeyeu orders by going into the female

ward when there was no case of emergency.

(3) That on the 5th. 01 March between 5,30 p.m. and

6.50 p.m. while in the above condition he indecently assaul

ed a female inmate named Li Sz-mui ami attempted to have

connection with her.

(4) He then locked the door and took away the key of

the door which he had no right to do.

(0) He is also charged with Chronic Alcoholism. He

has been warned several times orally for taking too much

liquor anu was. warned by the Colonial Surgeon on the 16th.

July 1894 and again on the 11th. October 1804. On the latter

date the following order was made:-

Waramaster Cumming tole this day that no liquor

"is to be taken into the Asylums. Warmaster Mekil

lop told same and warned.

He is also charged with disobeying this order in so

far as he had alcoholic liquor taken into the Asylums after

that date.

He was cautioned by the Colonial Surgeon in October 184

1894 for taking liberties with the amah.
